Exterior Porch Renovation
For this project, our goal was to rebuild the front porch, which had deteriorated over time and was no longer structurally sound. The original porch was rotting away and was precariously held in place by stucco at the front of the house, creating a serious structural risk. To ensure the safety and longevity of the new porch, we began by reinforcing the foundation with new footings and additional framing. This crucial step provided the necessary support to prevent the porch from pulling away from the house or compromising the integrity of the roof.
Once the foundation and framework were secure, we installed new sheeting to create a solid and stable structure. We then framed in new windows, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the space. These windows not only improved natural light but also contributed to better insulation and energy efficiency.
After the framing and window installation were complete, we applied fresh stucco to seamlessly blend with the existing exterior, restoring the home’s original charm while providing a durable and weather-resistant finish. On the interior, we carefully installed paneling and trim to match the porch’s original design, maintaining its classic character and warmth.
This renovation not only revitalized the appearance of the home but also significantly improved its safety and stability. The newly reconstructed porch is now a secure, inviting space that the homeowners can enjoy for years to come, adding both functionality and long-term value to the property.
