Plymouth Deck Redo & Facelift

This backyard featured a large boulder retaining wall, with a playset positioned at the far end of the yard. However, the existing setup posed a safety risk, as the only way for the children to reach the playset was by walking along the yard’s perimeter and up the wall. This created a hazardous situation, as there was a 50-foot stretch where they could potentially fall off the retaining wall while making their way to the playset and fence.

Our first priority was to find a safe and practical solution to improve accessibility while minimizing any risk of injury. After evaluating the layout, we designed and constructed a custom staircase and railing system that would provide a direct and secure route to the playset. The stairs were carefully cut and installed with a landing for added stability, while the railing ensured that the children could safely navigate up and down without the risk of falling.

Once the stairs and railing to the playset were in place, we continued working back toward the deck, extending the railing system to provide additional safety and a seamless, cohesive design. The result was a functional and visually appealing upgrade that not only enhanced the safety of the space but also made it look like the new additions had always been part of the original design.

Now, the kids can enjoy their playset with peace of mind, and the homeowners have a backyard that is both safer and more accessible.
